This song was inspired by the life of Pete Chvany, longtime teacher/advisor and soccer coach at Emerson College. After his death in 2021, tributes poured in from his past students, colleagues and players. Many words were used to describe him, and they were "big" words like legend, superstar, mentor, etc... I used those words myself. But it got me thinking about the word "teacher," and what it can represent. The right teacher, who finds the right way to connect, at the right time, with the right student? Tribute after tribute showed Pete was that teacher. What could be more impactful than that? How many compliments are better than calling someone a true TEACHER?
Honoring Pete's words "I'm primarily a teacher," 50% of proceeds from this single will be donated to the Pete Chvany scholarship fund at Emerson College.
